Erica Fearnley is our newest Biomedical Engineering undergraduate advisor, officially starting on September 17 in her new role. She has been with the department for a little over a year and has been with the University of Utah since 2012. Erica graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She has been a teacher previously and really enjoys working with students. In her free time, Erica loves to be outside – hiking, biking, or even taking her two dogs for a walk!

Erica’s two dogs, Scout and Atticus.

Erica enjoys listening to murder mystery podcasts, reading, cooking, and traveling. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family.

Erica decided to pursue advising because she believes that everything we do is driven by students. She feels that students are the reason we’re here. Erica wants them to succeed and feels that making sure they are aware of their options is the key to this. “Helping students is really the most rewarding thing,” says Erica. When asked what one piece of advice she would like all students to know, she replied, “It’ll be okay! You have time to figure it out and don’t have to have all the answers right now. We’re here to help!”

The class schedule for 2019 is now available, as well as the registration dates for students. Freshmen, make sure to schedule your mandatory advising appointment to receive priority registration! Sophomores, juniors, and seniors – come in to see Erica to explore your options, and make sure you’re on track to accomplish your goals!
