Current Research
A main goal of my laboratory is to study alterations in mitochondrial ion channels in disease, since changes in these ions strongly alter mitochondrial shape and function. We have been focusing on how alterations in mitochondrial calcium signaling in heart failure, metabolic, and mitochondrial diseases can be targeted for novel therapies in these diseases.
