Current Research

Our lab is focused on understanding the complex and interrelated mechanical, structural, and biological alterations that results in the degeneration of cardiovascular tissue from a normal to pathologic state. We develop and apply computational and experimental techniques to address clinically important problems in cardiovascular disease, including: elucidating mechanically influenced biologic mechanisms, evaluating the structure-function relationship in vascular tissues, and establishing engineering techniques to advance clinical diagnosis and prognosis. Given the multidisciplinary nature of our research, the laboratory enjoys active collaborations with engineers, scientists, and clinicians.
